Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, entrants, and donors; In 2009, Utah Fast Pass was able to donate $335,000 for Utah causes: The Utah Highway Patrol's Honoring Heroes Foundation, provide scholarships for 40 students of public safety families, provide five scholarships for rural Utah High School students in three communities, community projects in three rural Utah towns, sponsored 38 Utah high school students in the history education program to take selected students to Washington, DC and the surrounding area to see firsthand our government at work and visit historical sites.
Utah Fast Pass donated $112,000 to the Honoring Heroes Foundation, $80,000 for the history education program, and gave $53,000 to the following rural Utah communities:

Manti - $5,000
Kanab - $11,000 (one scholarship designated for an average student donated by Dick Downs and Lawson Scholarship.)
Huntington - $5,000
Total of $32,000 in scholarships

Honoring Heroes Foundation
The Honoring Heroes Foundation is incorporated in Utah and has been granted Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) status of Charitable Organization. The Mission Statement for the Honoring Heroes Foundation is "To protect and provide for fallen and wounded Troopers and for the well being of the dependents and employees of the Utah Highway Patrol and the Department of Public Safety." The intent is to assist with expenses not covered by insurance when Troopers are injured on the job, killed in the line of duty, or encounter other catastrophic expenses not of their own making.
Rural Utah Communities and Scholarships
Rural Utah Community Projects may include local service projects to assist rural communities throughout the state and also educational scholarships to sponsor students and provide valuable opportunities for the youth in these remote areas.
Public Safety Scholarships
Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each designated for children of public safety workers throughout the state. Includes the Utah Highway Patrol Association, Utah Sheriffs Association, Utah Chiefs of Police Association, the Utah EMT Association, and the Professional Fire Fighters of Utah.
